Carl Oser writes: I am currently a visiting professor at la Universidad San Francisco de Quito, in Quito, Ecuador where I teach voice within the Institute of Contemporary Music (IMC). I teach 20 private voice students a week as well as a class on the Evolution of Jazz. I am constantly invoking musical and technical approaches that I learned with Arden, and if I am invoking her directly, I am always aspiring to her high energy, positivity, and insistence on using that which works to inform that which could use a bit of work.
