A Master Class based on the work of H. Wesley Balk
\nPresented by Bonnie Brooks<\/p>\n
Bonnie, a well-known soloist in the Bay area who is equally at home performing opera, jazz, and music theatre, is also a founding member of our local NATS chapter, and teaches voice privately and at SSU. She will present performance concepts developed by the well-known performance coach, author, and stage director Wesley Balk. During the 1990s, Bonnie had the opportunity of working directly with Wesley Balk at least half a dozen times in various workshops all over the country, from California to Georgia. <\/p>\n
The Wesley Balk program builds upon basic skills of singing and acting, moving to unify them into an integrated \u201cradiant\u201d performance. Bonnie will work especially with gesturing and facial expression, working to free, expand and help singers discover their greatest performing power. This workshop will provide some great tools for younger singers who are trying to find their way regarding \u2018what to do with my body and my face.’ Valuable also for more experienced singers looking for more ease and spontaneity in their performances!
